Typical applications

Toll collection and violation enforcement
Accuracy rates of over 95% on readable license plates, and as high as 98%, have been achieved by Toll Vision solutions in actual Video Enforcement Systems (VES). No other company has achieved these rates under realistic operational test conditions.

Open Road Tolling (ORT)
Toll Vision flash units are core elements in systems that collect road tolls cost-effectively without the need for toll booth installations and radio frequency transponders. Toll Vision helps these multi-lane free-flow (MLFF) tolling projects to maximize vehicle identification for toll collection or violation enforcement.

Section/average speed control
Unlike simple “speed traps”, average speed enforcement systems track vehicles over longer distances by matching plate numbers or vehicle images to determine if enforcement action is required.

Congestion charging
Toll Vision imaging systems are being used in leading-edge projects that charge road users who congest specific areas and/or times. The goal is to encourage smarter driving habits and the use of public transportation.
Off-angle illumination for better enforcement
On-axis ring lights only provide images of number plates in dark conditions. The off-angle illumination from Toll Vision's LED flash units makes sure that the entire vehicle and surrounding details are also properly exposed for a more complete and indisputable enforcement package.
“Traffic Safety Mode” enables day/night color imaging
Overhead units (TNL-100, TNL-50) feature an advanced “Traffic Safety Mode” which combines continuous low intensity lighting with triggered strobe pulses to minimize driver distraction and allow white/blue light (for color imaging) to be used in situations where not previously possible.
Multiple spectral options available
All units can be configured with different wavelength options including NIR (850nm), blue (470nm), and white (visible spectrum). This enables the units to support the highest possible automated read rates regardless of time-of-day or number plate color schemes.
LED flash products
for vehicle imaging applications

Toll Vision offers several illumination options for vehicle imaging applications. All are compact, lightweight, high powered LED flash units designed to complement the on-axis ring lighting of the VISCAM 1000 with off-axis illumination of the entire scene for more enforceable images. They support both overhead and side-fire configurations, with multiple spectral options available.
